Wherever you are is the entry point— KABIR
It’s been six years since RBI’s new home went quiet. In that time, the world has moved into something like a polycrisis — more division, more apathy, less agreement, less cooperation, less reciprocity. If you’ve felt numb watching how fast, and how far, things have fallen, you’re not alone.
And yet, something else is quietly growing too. All over, communities are gathering again — around breathwork, vision questing, sacred ceremony. People are turning back to elders and indigenous teachers to relearn practices that are older than any of us. We’re learning to sit with discomfort instead of running from it, to do the deep, quiet work of purification, and to feel — really feel — how connected we all are. Even with so much pain in the world, even as the earth itself seems to be crying out, something in us is waking up. Kindness is spreading. Cooperation is returning. People and communities are healing. We are recognizing the need to come together in person, and find each other in new and old ways.
Maybe the earth is offering us this as medicine — a wake-up call that’s also an invitation, a chance to come home to our roots, our wisdom, and our ability to care for one another.
Sacred practice can soften us from “me” toward “we.” But learning to really cooperate, to really reciprocate, asks more of us. It asks us to build community where vulnerability, honesty, and being truly seen are welcome. It asks us to gently face the shame and the habits that keep us apart, to look at our shadows with compassion, and to practice showing up for each other. We’re being asked to wake up together — and that starts with something small: finding our own way in.
For the past two years, I’ve been walking this alongside collaborators, dreaming into what RBI’s next chapter could hold. Some beautiful ideas for RBI trainings are taking shape. I look forward to share more with you next month.
And now, that entry point has a door — RBI is opening on October 1st! It has been quite a journey and I am heartened to see this vision come alive. And for that, we need your help.
I invite you to our inaugural offerings, listed below. RBI staff is excited to welcome you as we build community, both new and old.
We’re also actively inviting workshop leaders and trainers of somatic practices to connect with us, so we can dream side by side for what future offerings could look like. There is much good work to be done, and we have gathered enough wisdom and experience to make something good of it all. May it be so.
