Introduction to IFS for Psychedelic Medicine Workers

This workshop introduces and applies the fundamentals of Internal Family Systems (IFS) within psychedelic medicine work, offering IFS-informed preparation, guidance, and integration, as well as training and support for facilitators.

Over more than twenty years of research on MDMA and psilocybin, investigators have found that a majority (70–80%) of participants spontaneously identify distinct “parts” of themselves arising during psychedelic experiences. Facilitators in clinical and ceremonial settings report similar observations when guiding clients.

In addition to our parts, each of us possesses a core Self with the innate capacity to meet experience with calm, compassion, curiosity, creativity, connectedness, confidence, courage, and clarity. IFS recognizes that, regardless of the trauma a person has endured, this inner healing intelligence remains present and accessible.

IFS is an evidence-based therapeutic model that offers an inherently healing process for both practitioners and participants, along with a shared language that deepens our understanding of ourselves and one another.

This training is designed for medicine workers who want to learn to how to apply core elements of IFS to preparation and integration sessions to deepen their work, as well as learn how to be aware of their own parts that may influence the work.  Established practitioners, as well as those currently in training, are welcome.

This class will meet on September 12, 2026 from 9am – 4pm, with an hour break for lunch.
