Tenant Community Guidelines

These community guidelines are part of the lease agreement between Root and Bloom Institute and office tenants. They are intended to create a professional, welcoming, and safe environment for all practitioners and their clients.

1. Respect & Noise

  • Maintain a quiet atmosphere at all times.
  • Sound machines or white noise devices are recommended for privacy.
  • No loud conversations or disruptive sounds in offices or common areas.

2. Client & Guest Conduct

  • Clients should wait in the designated waiting area until called.
  • Tenant is responsible for the behavior of clients and guests.

3. Use of Common Areas

  • Shared spaces (waiting room, restrooms, kitchen, hallways) must remain clean and accessible to all tenants.
  • Do not leave personal items, marketing materials, or supplies unattended in common areas without permission.
  • Kitchenette use: label any stored food and clean up immediately after use.

4. Scheduling & Space Access

  • Offices may only be used during the hours specified in the Lease Agreement.
  • Tenant shall not allow others to use the office without prior approval from RBI.

5. Safety & Facilities

  • No open flames allowed in the office. No strong fragrances that impact neighboring offices.
  • Do not block hallways, doors, or exits.
  • Report any safety hazards or repair needs promptly.

6. Respect for Community

  • We are intentionally building community around VWC Agreements and ask everyone to practice these agreements to the best of their comfort and ability within RBI.
  • Be courteous and thoughtful to fellow tenants, staff, clients, neighborhood residents and visitors at all times.
  • Conflicts between tenants should be addressed within VWC Agreements and, if needed, brought to RBI staff for support.

7. Transportation & Parking

Like many parts of the bay area, street parking is limited. RBI is nestled at the edge of a residential community and we operate in support of their access to neighborhood parking.   Shared parking agreements will help ensure that clients and other guests who are in the greatest need of nearby parking will have that opportunity.  You are responsible for understanding these guidelines and communicating them with your clients so they can arrive with ease and on schedule.  Read full parking and transporation guidelines here.

8. Community Building

  • Tenants are encouraged (but not required) to participate in events for the RBI tenant community. Events may include potlucks, experiential activities, or local walks.  Tenants are invited to offer/co-create shared activities as well.
