1. Respect & Noise
- Maintain a quiet, respectful atmosphere in hallways and common areas.
- Music and other noise levels within classroom spaces must be moderated to prevent disturbing other renters.
2. Parking
Like many parts of Berkeley, street parking is limited and we take care to be in good relationship with our neighbors and renters for parking. As a renter, it is your responsibility to follow and share our parking guidelines to help create an easeful experience for your group’s arrival to RBI and respect the residents of our neighborhood.
3. Set-Up & Clean-Up
- Renter is responsible for setting up and returning furniture/equipment to its original arrangement (unless other arrangements with RBI have been made).
- Remove all personal items and put any trash in receptacles
- Do not leave supplies, food, or materials in classrooms or common areas after your rental.
- Use vacuum and/or brooms made available to leave the floors free of debris.
- Additions for Earth Center:
- Wipe down of kitchen counters, all dishes clean, kitchen floors swept, sink clean
- Additions for Water Way:
- Clean sink/countertops, wipe down any residue of used art supplies
- An additional fee will be charged ($150 – $250) for rooms that need additional cleaning upon your departure.
4. Shared Space Etiquette
- Hallways, restrooms, and reception area must remain accessible to all RBI guests.
- Guests and students should be aware of others in shared and adjacent spaces, keeping noise level to a minimum
5. Safety & Facilities
- Open flames and incense cannot be used (smoke may trigger fire alarm for the entire building).
- Exits must remain clear at all times
- Report any spills, damage, or safety concerns immediately.
6. Professional Standards
- We ask that you join us in practicing our VWC Agreements in how you relate to staff, renters, and clients at RBI.
- Renter is responsible for the conduct of all participants and guests.
- No alcohol or illegal substances are permitted on the premises.
- All classes must comply with local laws, licensing, and building use restrictions.
